The server I rented to host this site on was taken down by the organization that I rented it from. See previous post. I paid around 30USD worth of monero for that server for 90 days and without any notice, I am not able to access any of the services that I bought from them. I am not going to name them because I want to be sure that there is not an issue on their side too. I emailed for a refund or if it’s possible to get the server back up and running. They have not replied yet.
What should I do now?⌗
When I looked at the support options, they also have an irc-chat where I might be able to get some help. We’ll see how it goes. Hopefully I get a reply.
I should be more careful⌗
The reasons I chose this VPS over the other options, are:
- Price
- It’s super cheap for their budget option
- Availability
- They have servers in a lot of different regions
The region I chose was Singapore since it has fast response time to many countries.
With my experience using other VPS, I was absolutely fine with any sort of regular web hosting activities like jitsi, nextcloud and simple static site servers. But this one, I don’t know what’s going on with them… Currently the backup VPS is from BUYVM their prices are as low as $2.00 monthly. Not sponsored. I just thought that I might go with them for this site even though they don’t have as many locations as the other service. The website is kinda slow now, takes around a quarter of a second to load a page whereas the problematic service is pretty much instantanious since it was hosting from Singapore.
If it’s a static site, why not just host it on git?⌗
Sure it works but, that’s just not fun for me…
What’s the worse that could happen?⌗
The domain ayyzee.net gets banned.
If that happens, I’ll buy a .crypto domain and host the site on there. Those are expensive. I’ll have to mine for months. But even if I still get to keep the ayyzee.net domain, I might still shoot for the .crypto domain in order to be adamant from restrictions.
Thanks for the read ♥
